Matt H. Morgan, age 92, of Lake Village, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at Lake Village Healthcare Center. He was born March 1, 1917, in Thomaston, Alabama, the son of the late Marion Council Morgan and Mary Lula Green Morgan and he served in the CCC camp in 1939. He moved to Lake Village with his family in 1941, were he was a farmer, a mechanic, and a television repairman from 1959 to 1990 when he retired. He resided with his daughter Jaunder Bariola for two years and was a resident of the Lake Village Healthcare Center since October until his death, and he also was Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucinda Norwood Morgan, a son, Jack P. Morgan, 2 brothers, Mike and John Morgan, and 2 sisters, Sarah Allgood and Rena Morgan. Survivors are, 2 sons, Todd Morgan and wife, Ruth, of Coker, Alabama, David Morgan and wife, Donna Rae, of Louisville, Kentucky; 4 daughters, Mary Hall and husband, Ervin, Jaunder Bariola, Donna Moorehead and husband, Kenneth, all of Lake Village, Novilla Frazer and Bill of Portland; a daughter-in-law, Faustina Sanchez Morgan, of Grand Canary, Spain; 6 brothers, Joe Morgan of Gallaton, Tennessee, Jim Morgan and wife, Lona, of Lake Village, Jud Morgan and wife, Dalta, Will Morgan and wife, Collen, Ike Morgan, Morris Morgan and wife, Janita, all of the Little Rock area; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral Services are at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Donaldson officiating. Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
