Frazier Robinson Thompson, III, Lake Village, AR, died Monday, March 2, after an extended illness. Born December 10, 1942, in Jackson, MS, Thompson grew up in Bentonia, MS, and went on to receive his Masters in Accounting degree from Mississippi State University. He worked in public accounting before managing the family farm in Bentonia, known as Egypt Plantation. In 1998 he became the president, and later the CEO, of Presto-Tap Leak Detection Systems, based first in Bartlett, TN, then Greenville, MS in 2001, where he helped develop and market a full product line of leak testing equipment for the sole interest of a safer propane industry. He leaves his wife, Debbie Mitchell Thompson of Lake Village, AR, two sons, Frazier Robinson Thompson, IV, from Lubbock, TX, and John William Thompson, Bentonia, MS; two daughters, Lindsey Love Provine of Greenville, MS, and Rebecca Lee Chapman of Edwards, MS; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, William Puffer Thompson, Yazoo City, MS, and Michael Hicks Thompson, Memphis, TN. Thompson was predeceased by his brother, Walter Wright Thompson, and parents, Frazier Robinson Thompson, Jr, and Olga Wright Thompson. Bishop Funeral Home in Lake Village, AR is in charge of the remains. Visitation is at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 350 High St,, Jackson, MS, 10 AM Saturday, March 14, with services to follow at 11 AM. In preparation of his “homecoming” the deceased left instructions to “challenge family and friends to demonstrate a random act of kindness—such as filling a needy family’s pantry, or giving to an orphanage—in lieu of giving flowers.”
