Paul Jerry McDonald Sr. age 71, of Enid, Oklahoma, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid. He was born January 5, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Ransom and Lillie Belle McDonald. He graduated high school in Memphis, Tennessee and served nine years in the U. S. Air Force after which he joined the Memphis Police Department. He later made a career in the oilfield service industry. He was a devoted family man, good husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce Jones McDonald; a son, P. J. McDonald of Archer City, Texas, a daughter Jennifer Kelley and her husband, Shannon, of Enid, Oklahoma, three grandchildren, Kayla Kelley, and Ransom and Canyon McDonald and numerous in-laws in Lake Village. The closest being the Laurence and Barbara Jones family with whom he hunted, fished and enjoyed a close knit family relationship.
Mr. McDonald will lie in state at Bayou Mason Baptist Church starting at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 20, 2008 until service time. Services are 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the church with Bro. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Bayou Mason Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
