Lawrence Harold Hogue, age 67, of Benton, AR formerly of Lake Village, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness at Saline Memorial Hospice Hospital in Bryant, Arkansas.

He was a graduate of McGehee High School, served in the Arkansas National Guard, and was a farmer and heavy equipment mechanic before retiring.  He was a loving husband, father, papaw, and great papaw.  He was very loving and caring  and will be missed by all who had a chance to meet him and share the many memories that he made.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Guy and Maggie Sykes Hogue, wife, Phyllis Annette Nave Hogue, brothers, Russell Hogue, Wayne Hogue and sisters, Ruby Spradlin, and Mildred Foster.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, James Edward Hogue (Cindy) of Traskwood, AR; daughters, Debra Lynn Byrd of Kilbourne, LA and Wendy Annette Gunter (Wayne) of Transylvania, LA; eight grandchildren, Clayton Gunter (Alicia) of Transylvania, Krista Byrd (Brad Lovell) of Alexander, AR, Deana Hogue of Centerton, AR, Bradley Hogue of Haskell, AR, Dustin Gunter of Transylvania, LA Lindsey Hogue of Haskell, AR, Alicia Haley (Brandon) of Oak Grove, La, Heather Gunter (Eric Fautheree) of Transylvania, LA and six great-grandchildren, Christian Layne Lovell, Marissa Cheyenne Gunter, Clayton Lane Gunter, Emily Brook Gunter, Landon Jayce Haley, and Bailee Annette Gunter; sister, Ann Wood (Earl), brothers, Gene Hogue, Roy Hogue (Ursula), all of McGehee, AR and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at Bishop Funeral Home.  Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Payne officiating.  Burial will follow in Holy Innocents Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.

Active Pallbearers are Santa Lee, Sammy Angel, Harold Shreve, Jordan Rogers, Adam Goffinet, William Jennings, Johnnie Smith and Charlie Lovell.  Honorary Pallbearers are Clayton Gunter, Bradley Hogue, Dustin Gunter, Brad Lovell, Brandon Haley, Johnny Graves and Jerrell Gunter.
