Johnie Preston Hallman, age 85, of Lake Village, died Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Lake Village Healthcare.  He was born October 18, 1922, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the son of the late George W. Hallman and Mary Ann Simpson Hallman and was a retired farmer and member of Jennie Baptist Church.

He is survived by 4 sons, James David Hallman of Eudora, Everett C. Hallman of Lovell, Wyoming, Larry W. Hallman of Kingsland, and David C. Hallman of Parkdale; 2 daughters, Linda Jasay Martin of Kokomo, Indiana and Linda Sue Jones of Bastrop, Louisiana; a brother, Leon Hallman of Lakeland, Florida; 3 sisters, Clora Moore and Lona Morgan, both of Lake Village and Jean Hudson of Lakeland, Florida;   14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, at Bishop Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be

10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Jennie Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Slaughter officiating.  Burial will follow in Jennie Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
