Calvin Rowe, age 48, of Sheridan, formerly of Lake Village, surrounded by his family, was taken by heavenly angels to meet our Lord on Thursday, September 19, 2008, at St. Vincents Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born September 15, 1960 in Dumas, Arkansas, the son of the late Calvin Rowe Sr. and Alice Cletia Rowe and the youngest boy in a family of four girls. He was truly a precious gift to his parents and sisters. Calvin graduated from Lakeside High School and then attended University of Arkansas in Monticello. He was a territory manager for Mohawk Carpet Manufacturers and a member of Faith Fellowship Church and the Gideons International. He loved the outdoors and hunting was his passion. He especially loved his family’s hunting club. He had a big heart when it came to his friends and had a way of making everyone feel special. Calvin centered his life around his family. His wife and 2 daughters were the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Cletia Rowe and by a nephew,
Sgt. Bradley Marshall.
Survivors are his wife, Vernail Rowe and 2 daughters, Allie and Bailey, of Sheridan; 4 sisters, Lois Marlow and husband, Chuck, of Bigelow, Louise Holloman and husband, Cal, of Sheridan, Linda Funderburg of Monticello, and Frances Marshall and husband, Wayne, of Little Rock and several nieces and nephews who adored him.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral services are
2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Faith Fellowship Church with Bro. Phillip Payne and Bro. Russell Priscke officiating. Burial will follow in Bayou Mason Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers are Sammy Rice, Ralph Jones, Bo Nix, Rodney Wiltcher, Brian Craig, Paul Vencill, Geno Olivi and Jim Broach. Honorary Pallbearers are James Rice and Leroy Alexander.
Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
