Irene Mazzanti, age 85, of Benton, Arkansas, formerly of Lake Village, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Stony Brook Rehabilitation Center in Benton. She was born May 3, 1922 in Shaw, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Marino and Frances Pandolfi Gainspoletti. She was a homemaker and communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Italo Mazzanti, by a brother, Chris Gainspoletti and by 3 sisters, Louise Canonoci, Rose Mancini and Jennie Cibula.
Survivors are 2 daughters, Mary Frances Shea of Russellville and Pauline Hilliard and husband, Terry, of Alexander; one brother, Julius Gainspoletti of Shaw, Mississippi; 2 sisters, Angelina Bailey of Missouri and Mary Teresa Montolini of Chicago, Illinois; 2 grandchildren, Michael Shea and wife, Kelly, of Conway and Lisa Dickerson and husband, Jason, of Benton and one great-grandson, Scott Andrew Dickerson.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, March 17, 2008, at Bishop Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village with Father Theophilus Okpara as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of
Lake Village.
