Linda Lou Self, age 67, of Lake Village, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at her home. She was born July 20, 1942 in Butler, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Curtis Hempfling and Constance Snyder Hempfling. She was a retired commercial housekeeper, a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association since 1999 and a member of Lake Village Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary, and by 1 brother and 1 sister. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Self of Lake Village; 2 sons, Jason Brackin and Bill Brackin, both of Springfield, Missouri; 3 daughters, Floresa Smith of Greenville, Mississippi, Glenda Rayburn of Mobile, Alabama and Barbara Tate of Sumpter, South Carolina; a sister, Sally McKenny of Sun City, Arizona; 3 grandchildren, Wesley, Jase and Jude Brackin; 8 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 P.M. Friday at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral services are at
10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Lake Village Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery near Darnell, Louisiana under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
