Michael L. Emerson, age 55, of Lake Village, died Saturday, October 31, 2009.  He was born December 20, 1953, in Dermott, the son of the late Buel J. Emerson and Beulah I. Byrd Emerson.  He was a surveyor and truck driver and a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church and an avid hunter.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Emerson and by 2 sisters, Bobbye Billings and Mandy Warren. 

Survivors are his wife, Carol Richards Emerson of Lake Village; 4 sons, Scott Emerson and wife, Amy, Kenny Emerson and wife, Sarah, and Chase Emerson and Brody Emerson, all of Lake Village; 2 brothers, Petey Emerson and Buddy Emerson, both of Lake Village; 3 sisters, Gerri Cottman and Marianne Morgan, both of Lake Village and Brenda Spencer of Yukon, Oklahoma, and 5 grandchildren, Cameron, Chandler, Landin, Bailey and Brianna Emerson.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Bishop Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Payne and Bro. David Powers officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
