Deborah Gibbs Kell, age 88, of Lake Village, formerly of Eudora, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. She was born
March 13, 1921, in Lake, Mississippi, the daughter of the late William Henry Parker and Minnie Weems Parker. She was an accomplished silhouette artist and homemaker and a member of the United Pentecostal Church. She was a charter member of the fairgrounds committee and a member of the 20th Century Club and the Eudora Garden Club. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Maurice Gibbs. Survivors are her husband Dr. Joseph Kell of Richmond, Virginia; a son, James Gibbs of Houston, Texas; a daughter, LaVonne Patrick and her husband, Kendall, of Lake Village; 6 grandchildren, Jake Gibbs, Mark Gibbs, Stephen Gibbs, Randall Patrick, Rachel Lugo and Parker Patrick and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at Bishop Funeral Home in Lake Village. Graveside Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 4, 2009, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Lugo and Rev. Dwight Fulton officiating. Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
